From Amazing Spider-Man #22 comes an
awesome ad that would scare the crap out of any kid! Could you imagine finding these things under
your Christmas Tree? Look at them, I
mean seriously look at them. They make the
Gremlins (and not Gizmo, the other putrid green ones) look like cuddle
puppies. At the very least, couldn’t
they get the poor things something for their red eyes?
Of course, when you read the ad you realize that what they’re selling are… drum roll please… Chia Pets!!! Ugly, disgusting, putrid, green grass haired Chia Pets!!! Oh man, oh man, oh man. So as a Christmas gift you get a double whammy – it looks putrid AND it’s a Chia Pet. It’s even stranger that the principles used to create these marketing albatrosses was pioneered by space exploration. I guess that’s your tax dollars at work. Seriously, does NASA have a marketing division that takes useless discoveries and figures out how to shill them to the public?
